Frequently Asked Questions

Will I need to move out?

Yes, unless you can access your home without the need to walk on the areas that are being worked on.

How long will it take?

Time required to do your job will vary depending on size, layout, condition of the timber and the product you select. Jason will be able to give you a better idea once he has visited your property.

How long do I need to wait after my floors are finished before I can walk on them?

In most cases it will be 24 hours. However this can vary depending on which product is used and drying conditions. It is important that you do not walk on your floor until is it completely dry.

Will there be any dust?

Not as much as you would think. Most clients comment on how little dust there is. Our equipment has dust extractors to minimise any dust. We always aim to leave your property as clean as when we arrived.

Gloss, Satin or Matte Finish?

The sheen of the finish really comes down to personal preference. A Gloss finish will show more dust and highlight and scratches over time than a Satin or Matte Finish. Satin is in between a Gloss and a Matte finish. Matte is a good option if you are after a very natural look.

How much will it cost?

This is difficult to determine without visiting your property, which is why we offer an obligation free quote. Depending on the condition of the timber and the coating system you choose the price will vary. A Polyurethane finish will be much cheaper than the more modern coating systems we use.

Do I need to move my furniture?

Yes you will need to move your furniture before we arrive to start your job. It may also be a good idea to cover up or move anything that is being stored underneath your home if there are gaps in the timber flooring where coating may drip through.

Will you need power?

Yes, it is essential that we have access to power. Our equipment will not operate on generators.

Should I paint before or after the floors are done?

We always recommend you paint before to avoid any paints on your freshly coated floors. Please keep in mind that you may require some touch-ups to the skirting boards after we have coated your floors.
